Local runners can log a little air time as the Flagler County Airport is hosting a 5K run to raise funds for the Flagler Beach Rotary Club.
The 5K run is on the airport runways next Saturday, February 11. Check- in for the 8:30 run will start at 7 a.m. Free tee shirts will be given to the first 250 registered runners. Flagler County Airport Director Roy Sieger has assured the race organizers that the runners will be cleared for take-off and won’t have to dodge planes.
A preflight check-in event from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 10 is being conducted at High Jackers Restaurant. More information on the run and the application is available on the website www.flaglerbeachrotary.org.
The 5K run is not the only event in the works for the Flagler County Airport this spring. The third annual “Wings Over Flagler Warbird Fly-In” is scheduled for the weekend of March 24 and 25.
