No, Flagler County does not accept unsolicited resumes or applications.
How do I change my address or phone number?

I am applying for a posting that requires a degree that I do not yet possess but will be obtaining soon. Will my application be considered?
We cannot determine that a person without a degree will not be considered for a particular position. It would depend on the number of qualified applications received.
I'd like to apply for several of the positions listed. Do I need to submit a separate application for each position I'm interested in?
Yes, you need to submit separate applications for each.
If I submit a resume will Flagler County keep it on file for future recruitments?
No, Flagler County does not accept unsolicited resumes or applications.
Once I have applied how long do you keep my application should I not be chosen for a position?
The law requires local government to keep all employment applications of those not hired for 2 years.
How do I find out the status of my application?
Human Resources will call or mail results to all applicants.
What positions are available?

When will Human Resources contact me after I submit my application?
If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted by either the Human Resources department or the selecting department. (Allow 2 weeks after position closes)
How long does the recruitment process take?
The process takes at least two weeks after the closing of the position.

Does Flagler County pay any portion of their employee's health insurance?
The county offers non-contributory coverage for employees and contributory coverage for dependants. For more information please click here for our Summary Plan Description.
How long do new employees have to wait to be covered by insurance?
New employees are eligible for health benefits the first day of the month after 30 days of continuous employment.
Employees receive 11 paid holidays. Which holidays are observed?
New Years Day, Martin Luther King's Holiday, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
How many vacation days do employees earn?
Each regular full time employee earns 20 personal days each year.

How do I become a firefighter/paramedic in Flagler County?
Flagler County Fire Rescue requires a person to hold current Florida certifications for Firefighter Minimum Standards and Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic in order to apply for a job. Normally we only accept applications when a position is being advertised. Vacancies are determined by staffing requirements and budget and are advertised in the local newspapers, on our website, and on other Fire Rescue related websites.
