Duties:

  • Supervise and participate in the review of development applications and proposals submitted by the development community and general public, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards
  • Make and present recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on development proposals.
  • Direct and coordinate work of staff which involves instructing, assigning, reviewing, and planning work of others; maintaining standards; coordinates activities; allocating personnel; acting on employee problems; selecting new employees; recommending and approving transfers/promotions, disciplinary actions, discharges, and salary increases; prepares and recommends performance evaluations.
  • Responsible for coordination of the Flagler County Technical (Development) Review committee.
  • Responsible for the administration and direction of all phases of County development involving Engineering, Development Engineering, Building, Planning & Zoning Departments.
  • This position requires a very high degree of public contact and reports to the office of the County Administrator.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in planning, geography, architecture, business/public administration or related field with six to nine years of development review and previous senior management experience, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential job functions. Previous senior management experience required.

Salary Range:
$59,613-$90,210/yr. with an excellent benefits package.
