- Skilled work in the performance of a wide variety of technical tasks in support of fire suppression, patient care work in rendering advanced pre-hospital life support, other emergency care and emergency rescue functions, prevention functions including driving apparatus to the incident scene and operating the apparatus and equipment
- Participate in the training of other department personnel on various apparatus and equipment
- Participate in fire prevention, station and equipment maintenance activities. Give tours of assigned station, demonstrate EMS/Fire equipment and apparatus, and participate in other education programs for various groups and general public.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Flagler County Emergency Services utilizes a Eurocopter AS350 B3 Helicopter for fire suppression and EMS air ambulance, which includes a FlightMedic program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma, under Section 633.34 (1), Fire Minimum Standards requirements under Section 633.34-35 and current State of Florida Paramedic certification and AHA/Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification. Must possess a valid State of Florida Class “D” with “E” endorsement driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the County. Must possess certification of completion of a State of Florida approved EVOC or defensive driving course. Must have experience as a Paramedic. Must successfully pass a departmental written examination on EMS/fire knowledge and practical skills. A comparable amount of training and/or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Salary Range:
Pay grade 400. Salary $10.11 per hour. Pay range for Paramedic, Firefighter/EMT and EMT will be per established rates. Overtime is paid for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours each week. This is a 24-hour shift position averaging 56 hours weekly.
