TRADESWORKER I: Flagler County Government is accepting resumes and completed County Employment Applications to work as a Tradesworker I within the General Services Department Facilities Division.
POSTION SUMMARY: Apprentice level work in assisting in the maintenance and repair of buildings and mechanical equipment in several building trades.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Assists in making repairs to buildings, equipment, including electrical systems, and electronic apparatus. Assists in repairing circuits and broken wires. Changes oil, cleans and repairs circuits and thermostats. Performs plumbing work. Installs flush tanks, sink bowl and commodes. Repairs water and sewer lines. Repairs door locks and frames. Performs carpentry work and woodworking duties. Repairs roofs and partitions. Operates power saws, lathes and related equipment. Performs buildings and grounds maintenance. May perform maintenance work. Operates chain saws, concrete saws, weed trimmers, etc. Performs painting duties. Uses paint roller, brushes, sandpaper, and masking tape and paint cleaners. Paints exterior and interior of buildings and offices. Operates light automotive, construction and janitorial equipment. Performs basic maintenance on equipment. Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Ability to gain knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and tools of one or more of the building trades. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade. Ability to become skilled in the use and care of tools, equipment and materials of the trades to which assigned. Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver’s License. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with some experience in one or more of the building trades as a helper. Salary $11.59 per hour.
