BUDGET MANAGER: Flagler County is accepting Resumes and completed County Employment Applications to work as a Budget Manager. This position requires responsible professional and technical work in the development and implementation of the County Budget for departments and agencies funded by the Board of County Commissioners and works under the general supervision of the Financial Services Director. Knowledge of governmental accounting and budget preparation is required. Thorough knowledge of the funding process in a Florida local government environment as related to budgeting, cost accounting, financial planning, and management. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, elected and appointed officials. This is a supervisory position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in business or public administration or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of Florida local government financial administration/operations. Knowledge of local government budgeting practices and procedures to include: budget preparation and monitoring, fiscal customer service and special projects. Knowledge of the applicable Florida budget laws/regulations and generally accepted governmental accounting principles including: TRIM compliance and the Government Finance Officers (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award requirements. Ability to prepare meaningful and informative financial and statistical reports. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Knowledge in Microsoft Access and Excel.
