May Proclaimed Drug Court Month

The Flagler County Commission recognized the important work of Flagler County’s Adult Drug Court at its May 19th meeting.
      Drug Court is a program for selected individuals arrested in connection with substance abuse. Adult Drug Court started in Flagler County in 2006 and 90 people have graduated from the program to date.
      Research has shown that drug courts are effective and improve substance abuse treatment outcomes at a lower cost than any other justice strategy. Some 75 percent of Flagler County Adult Drug Court graduates had no new felony charges and 92 percent of graduates had no new drug charges. 
      Professionals working with Adult Drug Court in Flagler County have contributed to the healing of families in the community and the Flagler County Commission recognizes the work of the practitioners and participants of drug court programs to reduce the impact of drug abuse in our community.

 


Medical Services Week Announced

The Flagler County  Emergency Medical  Services System consists of the emergency physicians and emergency nurses at Florida Hospital Flagler, the paramedics, firefighters and others who engage thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills. They are ready to provide lifesaving care to those who need it at any time of the day or night. 
      The County Commission recognizes their dedication and ability and designates May 18 to May 24 as Emergency Medical Services Week.

 


New Florida Hospital Flagler Team Introduced
The Flagler County Commission with the new administrative team for Florida Hospital Flagler.

Florida Hospital Flagler CEO Ken Mattison introduced his new administrative team for the hospital at the May 19 meeting of the Flagler County Commission. Mattison took over the helm of Florida Hospital Flagler in 2013 and has assembled a new team to run the hospital. Mattison brought them to the County Commission meeting to introduce them to the community.
