The Flagler County Engineering Department is responsible for providing professional support for capital improvement projects and other assignments, including assistance to the public as needed. Professional support generally includes:

• Design
• Regulatory permit acquisition
• Document preparation
• Construction contract administration
• Professional services contract administration
• Grant / funding program management
• Monitoring of projects
• Construction inspection
• Maintenance of project record documentation

The county engineer provides overall administration of the department, professional and technical assistance to other county offices, and develops and recommends improvements to the county highway system as well as plans for long range projects and other capital improvements needed for the safety and welfare of the citizens of Flagler County.

Capital Improvement Projects
Capital improvement projects may be categorized as roadway improvements, intersection improvements, bridge structure improvements, drainage / stormwater management facilities, building / structural improvements and public land / park improvements. Artificial Reef Program
The Engineering Department also provides administration of Flagler County’s Artificial Reef Program and manages artificial reef construction projects within the county’s offshore permitted reef sites.
