Free business continuity planning workshops held October 18
October 9, 2019 – Flagler County’s departments of Emergency Management and Economic Opportunity have teamed up to provide a pair of free workshops to equip small businesses with the skills and information to be prepared before, during, and after a disaster.
“Teresa Battuello – who has both an extensive business background and emergency management training – will provide expert instruction and guidance so that businesses will come away with planning tools that will allow them to initiate the preparation that will allow them to recover rapidly after a disaster,” said Flagler County Emergency Management Director Jonathan Lord.
The workshops will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 3 to 5 p.m. October 18 at the Emergency Operations Center, 1769 E. Moody Boulevard, Building 3, Bunnell. Those interested in attending should RSVP to flaglerbizworkshop.eventbrite.com.
These two workshops are made possible through the support of the following agencies: Northeast Florida Regional Council (NEFRC), International Economic Development Council (IEDC), U.S. Economic Development Administration, Flagler County Emergency Management, Flagler County Department of Economic Opportunity, and Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
Battuello is among the International Economic Development Council’s expert volunteers selected to teach best practices for protecting businesses facing any emergency.
“Her 30 years of experience, knowledge, and skills are outstanding,” said Helga van Eckert Executive Director Flagler County Dept. of Economic Opportunity. “We are very fortunate to have her present this crucial information to our local businesses.”
